Research Focus
Forest bird, butterfly and insect communities and ecosystems (gradient analysis in montane shola forests and evergreen forests); Biodiversity and conservation, visual ecology, ecological indicators, ecosystem functioning, wildlife trade and climate change.

1. Recipient of research grant of $ 9628 given by Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund- Conservation International, USA through ATREE for a project on “Evaluation of aquatic insect diversity in natural water-filled tree holes and their artificial analogues, in a tropical rainforest”
2. Recipient of Biodiversity, Ecology and Health Fund award of $ 4816 being given annually by Wildlife Trust, New York, USA for a project on “Evaluation of Butterflies as ecological indicators, in Western Ghats, India”.
3. United Nations Environment Program – 5th Eco-peace Leadership Award, from S. Korea for a project on Sacred Grove conservation which includes the travel grants to South Korea and Small grant.

1. Partial Travel grant to attend the Student Conference on Conservation Science (2008) conducted by Cambridge University, United Kingdom, from Centre for Co-operation in Science and Technology among Developing Societies. *

Regional
1. Dr. C. Chandrasekharan Memorial Award 2012, for the best young scientist in the State, by Kerala Forest Research Institute. The Award consists of a citation, a gold medal and a cash prize of Rs.25, 000.
2. Best Biodiversity Researcher in the State Award 2015, by the Kerala State Biodiversity Board, Govt. of Kerala, which consists of a citation and a cash prize of Rs.50, 000.
3. Small grant to prepare campus biodiversity register from Kerala State Biodiversity Board, Govt. of Kerala and Seminar grants to observe the World Environment Day 2009, National Science Day 2010, World Environment Day 2010 & World Environment Day 2014 from KSCSTE, Govt. of Kerala.
